Description
AMENDMENT 1. 2 Questions and Answers: 1. What the internal dimensions of the existing pile roller glides? We would like to design the UHMW pad/clearance with this information. Is there any past experience of binding during vertical travel. The internal dimensions of the existing pile roller guides are as follows: • The internal dimension of the metal brackets that hold the rollers are 26" by 25 ¾". • The concrete pilings are 24 ½" by 23 ¾". • The rollers are out of adjustment, but currently have a 1 3/8" by ¾" gap (Pier 1). There was little binding during vertical travel. The most noticeable problem was on a horizontal plane, mainly in the form of hard contact or banging between the rollers and piling during tide changes and rough weather. 2. Are the existing 3 piers (being repaired) flat and level today for the end users? In the description extra buoyancy was mentioned, so we are trying to understand the current pier surface level condition. • The three piers are close to being flat and level. The intent of the extra buoyancy in the specification was to compensate for any additional weight by the repairs, modifications and / or additions to the concrete deck and bracket system. The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD), Oakland, CA intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to a vendor capable of providing Floating Pier Repairs at the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet located at 2595 Lake Herman Rd., Benicia, CA 94510 in accordance with the attached Statement of Work. The requested period of performance is 14 days after Notice to Proceed (NTP) with completion 90 days after NTP.
