Description
Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition This notice serves as the synopses of contract award for the Orion Production and Operations Contract (OPOC), 80JSC019C0012, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.301, Synopses of Contract Awards, paragraph (a). This award is associated with this pre-solicitation synopsis (80JSC17OPOC) and sole-source solicitation number 80JSC018R0014. The Government has awarded the OPOC to Lockheed Martin Corporation, acting by and through Lockheed Martin Space (formerly Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company), for the production and operations of the Orion spacecraft in support of a minimum of 6 missions and up to a maximum of 12 missions, beginning with Artemis III (formerly referred to as EM-3). The Government has issued orders for Orion spacecraft in support of three missions (Artemis III through V) with award of this contract, valued at a total of $2.7B. The Government also plans to order Orion spacecraft in support of three additional missions (i.e. Artemis VI through VIII) under this contract in Government Fiscal Year 2022 at a total value of $1.9B. In accordance with FAR 5.301, Synopses of Contract Awards, paragraph (d), this notice also serves to post the Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) for the OPOC, which has been updated in accordance with NASA FAR Supplement (NFS) 1806.304, Approval of Justifications.
