Description
The attached file is the information required to understand and subsequently submit an RFI for this program. USAMMDA is currently seeking information on technologies (medical devices) and pharmaceuticals with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 or above (utilizing chart located in reference section) that are designed with the intent of preventing of and/or reduction of the risk/severity of TBI and achieving (at some point) US FDA clearance. Identification of technologies or pharmaceuticals with such capabilities are essential to protect the warfighter and is vital to force protection and strength. The primary capability gap and areas of interest is related to technologies and/or pharmaceuticals that aid in preventing brain injuries include, but are not limited to: 1.Wearable technologies that will prevent and/or lessen the risk/severity of TBI's when a Service Member is exposed to a potential concussive event. The ideal device should be easily applied by front line users (eg: Infantry) and not inhibit range of motion or overall mission. 2.Pharmaceuticals that will prevent and/or lessen the risk/severity of TBI's when a Service Member is exposed to a potential concussive event.
