Sources Sought Notice/Request for Information (RFI) Item: 7.62MM x 39MM COTS Carbines The Army Contracting Command - NJ, on behalf of Project Manager Soldier Weapons is conducting a market survey to identify sources/vendors capable of supplying commercially available weapon systems with the criteria noted below. The Government is seeking to procure 7.62MM x 39MM Carbines as Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) items that have similar features to the U.S. M4 carbine, but that fires Soviet 7.62mm x 39mm ammunition. REQUIREMENTS: Technical data: 1. Caliber: 7.62MM x 39MM 2. Operationally similar selector switch and magazine release as the M4 3. A Picatinny rail system to mount optics Included accessories: 1. 30 round magazines. 2. Cleaning Kit 3. Sling All interested sources shall provide the following information in conjunction with the questions below: Company Name. Company Address. Company point of contact, phone number and email address. Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. Identify if the business is considered a Large, Foreign, Small or other Socio-Economic Program, based on the NAICS Code. Interested companies should provide responses to the following questions when replying to this RFI: 1. Does your company have a system available that can meet the above requirements? If yes, please provide a description of your system. Please specifically highlight operational similarities/dissimilarities from the US Army standard M4 Carbine. 2. If available, provide details and pricing for a recommended spare parts/support kit for maintenance requirements for two years support? Also include a Bill of Materials for all parts, and supply unit pricing. 3. To what degree is your system compatible with NSN sustainment parts? 4. Do test reports exist that demonstrate your system's accuracy and reliability? Actual reports are not required to be submitted as part of this request for information, but will be accepted after your initial response to this request. 5. Describe your company's history and experience with supplying this or similar systems including the total number supplied to date. 6. Describe the available cleaning kit supplied with your company's system. 7. Are the systems currently in stock and available for immediate delivery? If not, please state minimum quantity required to place an order. 8. If your system is not currently in stock, when would the systems be available for delivery (include monthly production rate)? 9. What is your commercial price for the above system and accessories? Any pricing data should be sent, if available, and at no cost to the U.S. Government. This is a Request for Information (RFI) ONLY and should NOT be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment by the U.S. Government. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE U.S. GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A RFP. All cost associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. The government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. Not phone calls will be accepted, all requests need to be submitted via email. All information is to be submitted at NO COST or obligation to the U.S. Government. This RFI release is for U.S. Government planning purposes only and constitutes requests for exchange of information pursuant to FAR 15.201.
