- Pre-Solicitation Notice The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 02 (NCO 2), intends to solicit quotes from contractors to provide Reusable Sharps Container Service and Disposal Services for the Buffalo, Batavia and Albany VA Medical Centers located at: Buffalo VA Medical Center 3495 Bailey Ave. Buffalo, NY 14215 Batavia VA Medical Center 222 Richmond Ave. Batavia, NY 14020 Albany VA Medical Center (Stratton VA) 113 Holland Ave. Albany, NY 12208 The VA anticipates posting an Unrestricted RFQ for this requirement to FBO.gov on or about October 28, 2019. Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of the solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from FBO.gov, and no hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide instructions to contractors about the quote submission process. Prospective Offerors are encouraged to register their interest in the solicitation on the FBO website (https://www.fbo.gov) so that they are notified of the issuance of the solicitation and any amendments. NAICS Code: 562112 (Hazardous Waste Collection) with a Small Business Size Standard of $41.5M Classification Code: S222. Proposed Solicitation Number: 36C24220Q0052 Anticipated Closing Response Date: November 18, 2019 Period of Performance: January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, with four subsequent option years Description: Reusable sharps containers and full service to include, but not limited to, labor for collection and exchange of containers that are more than 75% full, disposal of sharps waste, and providing documentation of proper disposal for the Buffalo, Batavia and Albany, New York VA Medical Centers. The VA estimates the included sites will require approximately 36,000 pounds of sharps waste to be disposed of throughout the potential 5 year contract period.
