Description
The project is located at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Washington DC. This project encompasses the demolition of sites that have been designated by base command to be demolished due to vacancy, deterioration, and absence of planned usage. These facilities are in structural disrepair, are weathered, have major roof leaks, suffer severe flooding, and may have major infestation issues. Each of the designated buildings, sheds, and storage spaces are no longer useful in their present condition and need to be demolished and removed. The base of this project entails the demolition and disposal of building 502, as well as sheds 2016, 2125, and 2130. Other options on this project are detailed in this Scope of Work (SOW). Due to the age of the structures, abatement protocols of lead and asbestos containing materials will be in effect. All project areas will be returned to grass via grading and reseeding, as well as all areas disturbed by construction activity, except where otherwise specified. JBAB has 72 sheds of various sizes throughout the installation. All sheds are unconditioned. The facilities are excess storage capacity and attract long term storage and eventual abandonment of excess supplies, particularly if they are located in a remote location or not near the tenant's primary facility.
