- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to amend the date of the industry day workshop from September 23rd, 2020, to September 22, 2020. In pursuit of the National Space Policy's goals and NASA's strategic plan, NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is continuing its efforts to foster the development of new industrial space-related capabilities that will lead to education and job growth in science and engineering and spur economic growth as capabilities for new space markets are created. NASA-GSFC is planning to conduct an industry day workshop on September 22, 2020, in Greenbelt, Maryland, to foster collaborations between NASA, the private sector, and academia. NASA also wishes to encourage investment in commercial space products and capabilities that can benefit future NASA missions. The purpose of this workshop is also to introduce the variety of well-established and demonstrated technologies GSFC has in the areas of free-space optical communications, sensors, high sensitivity cameras, radiation hardened electronics, compact and high power lasers, CubeSat/SmallSat components, and antennas, among others, that can be of use to solve many of the technical challenges facing private sector organizations. If an attendee is willing to share specific technical challenges in advance that their organization is facing, GSFC will make a concerted effort to include content in the program on technologies potentially addressing those challenges. The source of any such information submitted will be treated as confidential. NASA scientists and engineers in this one-day workshop will address demonstrated technologies that NASA believes to be of commercial potential for a broad range of applications. Companies identifying solutions to their challenges as a result of this workshop may contact the NASA Point of Contact to initiate a partnership or license for technologies of interest.
