- This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Department of Veteran Affairs. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified Small Business vendors and under statute 8127 at this time for Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. Items desired: Essential/significant physical, functional, or performance characteristics. a. Clinical chemistry and immunoassay analyzers Clinical Microbiology analyzer (4 each) Have on-board controls Option to utilize barcodes Panels test for viruses, bacteria, parasites, yeast, and antimicrobial resistance genes Test for but not limited to respiratory infection, Pneumoniae, Bloodstream infection, gastrointestinal infection and Meningitis/Encephalitis infection Can detect the specific pathogen causes the infection- Bacterial, Viral and Parasites Have panels/test supply targeting specific groups of infections to minimize cost Closed system to prevent cross contamination Compatibility: Ability to upload results into VA system through LIS, currently Data Innovations 120V Power requirement Complete generic description: Clinical Microbiology analyzer - automated in vitro diagnostic (IVD) device- four (4) each. VA Palo Alto Microbiology laboratory requires an instrument to provide a comprehensive panel on the following conditions: Respiratory infection, Pneumoniae, Bloodstream infection, gastrointestinal infection and Meningitis/Encephalitis infections. It will be able to detect the specific pathogen causes the infection- Bacterial, Viral and Parasites. This instrument is for direct patient care and results will determine treatment for veterans. We need a leased instrument to provide maintenance and supplies on contract. This needs to transmit information through a LIS connection for automated results. The requiring activity for this procurement is: VA Palo Alto Microbiology Laboratory B/100 E4-304 3801 Miranda Ave Palo Alto CA 94304 Period of Performance: Base year plus four option years. Five-year total contract. A determination on the contract type, mechanism for procuring the services, and possible set-aside will not be made by the Department of Veteran Affairs until after the market research has been completed. No proposals are being requested or accepted under this synopsis. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond. Responses should provide the following information in response to this sources sought announcement: (1) A completed Sources Sought Information Form (attached). PROCEDURES: This Sources Sought is a required component of a complete and systematic process to evaluate interested parties in order to minimize cost both to potentially interested parties and the Department of Veteran Affairs. Interested sources are also encouraged to submit product literature in response to this Sources Sought. Any submission of such product literature or catalog cut sheets will be treated separate from, and will have no bearing on, any subsequent evaluation of proposals submitted in response to any resulting future formal Request for Quote. Interested parties should provide a statement of interest on company letterhead (not to exceed 20 pages in length) to the POC s listed below email. No basis for claim against the Department of Veteran Affairs shall arise as a result of a response to this SOURCES SOUGHT, or Government use of any information provided. Elaborate proposals or pricing information are neither required nor desired. Any innovative and new conceptual ideas to achieve the stated objective are encouraged. Do not simply click the interested box and not send anything to the POC. This doesn t help with the market research being conducted. At this time no solicitation document exists for this request for Sources Sought. This notice is for informational purposes only; it is not a request for proposals nor should it be construed as a commitment by the Department of Veteran Affairs. The Department of Veteran Affairs will not pay for any effort expended into responding to this sources sought announcement.
