It does not constitute a Solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. The information from this market research will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research. The Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District (USACE) is planning a construction project in the City of Montevideo, Chippewa County, along the Twin Cities and Western Railroad (Railroad) in the State of Minnesota. The project requires railroad closure work, in an area of low head room under a MnDOT bridge, which consists of construction of an emergency flood barrier across the Railroad alignment. It is anticipated that a reinforced concrete closure measuring approximately 29 feet wide will be required. The scope of this work will include, but is not limited to, excavation, installation of a cast-in-place reinforced concrete base, installation of steel sheet pile flood barrier I-wall (approximately 80 total feet of 25' long sheet pile) that will tie into the MnDOT embankments, construction of reinforced concrete stop log slots and sill, backfill of the structure, and procurement and fit testing of stop logs. Ancillary construction items included in this project include construction of earthen berms on the MnDOT embankment and stripping of drainage ditches. Temporary shoring may be needed to meet railroad live loading and MnDOT standards. Tight project schedule communication and coordination with MnDOT and the Railroad while the track is closed is critical. The maximum duration of track closure is expected to be 48 hours. Interested vendors with experience in this type of construction project work within NAICS Code 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction are encouraged to send capabilities statements electronically to: Toni Wasgatt. USACE St Paul District Contracting toni.w.wasgatt@usace.army.mil Responses will be accepted until 3pm CST, Friday, 22 March 2019. This is a request for information from interested, experienced vendors only. No price proposals are requested or will be accepted. Responses are strictly voluntary. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with responding to this Sources Sought or any follow-up information requests.
