Description

The purpose of this amendment to the solicitation is to address questions from prospective vendors. Question 1: Can you give a reason as to why the current contract was not extended or why the option year was not exercised? Answer 1: All the elements of FAR 17.207(c) were not met. Question 2: Can you site any deficiencies with the current contract holder regarding their work at the cemetery? Answer 2: No. A Freedom for Information Act (FOIA) request would be the proper means to obtain this information. Question 3: On page 3 paragraph 3.1 the SOW states that weekly mow/trim service will need to be provided during the growing season (February - November) however the pricing format shows that service will be needed for 52 weeks.   Also, can you please clarify if services during the non-growing season are on an "as needed" basis, or if we'll be called in. Answer 3: The quantities in the schedule are estimates only. See Attachment A, Section 3.1.1. for acceptable grass heights. Question 4: The SOW says leaves are to be removed from internment areas. Is this basically meaning the improved areas or just areas around the headstones or columbarium areas? Answer 4:  For all improved areas; Leaves, nuts, and twigs shall be hand raked, vacuumed or blown by walk-behind push type machines from interment areas into the roadways, and then collected and properly disposed of from Cemetery grounds which includes right of way outside Cemetery fence.   Any accumulations of mulched leaves shall be removed from the Cemetery grounds and properly disposed of. Question 5: Paragraph 3.1.11.5 says that all walkways roads and parking areas must be swept.   Are we able to use blowers? Answer 5: Mechanical machines as blowers can be use for small particles; for large items hand picked; brooms and/or sweepers should be used.   At no time any chemicals will be used.     Question 6: Can you please provide the current company that's providing the service and the price of their last option year was? Answer 6: Provided in amendment A0001. Question 7: Does the cemetery have irrigation throughout the improved areas? Answer 7: Yes. Question 8: Can you provide the average number of services that are held per week? Answer 8: 6 / week. Question 9: Will you accept PPIRS/CPARS reports in lieu or a past performance report? Answer 9: Yes.
