Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS (NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION) The U.S. Geological Survey is seeking potential sources for high power underwater acoustic transducers (speakers). The high power underwater acoustic transducers (speakers). must have the following characteristics: Forty (40) High Power Piezoelectric underwater acoustic transducers: a) Minimum Frequency Range: 200Hz - 9kHz (400Hz - 8kHz +/- 4dB) b) Maximum Sound Pressure Level (lowest acceptable): 195 dB c) Maximum Voltage: 80 Vrms d) Duty Cycle (minimum): 100%/10A, 50%/14A e) Impedance: 8 ohms nominal f) Minimum Depth Rating: 6 - 40 ft g) Maximum Dimensions: 16.5" x 16.5" x 16.5" h) Protective cage available i) Transducer and cage weight: 70 pounds or lighter in air, 40 pounds or lighter in water j) Omni-directional k) Connector: Seacon XSEE3BCR with a submergence rating of up to 40 ft, or comparable l) Warranty: Minimum of 2 year limited m) Any coatings on body and housing of the transducer shall meet the requirements of MIL-C-5541, Class 1-A n) Must supply bridging transformer box, if needed, to allow connection to amplifiers up to 2500 watts at 4 ohms, bridged mono. 40 Cables (either A or B) a. Between 75 ft and 300 ft (as requested), compatible with acoustic transducers, connections, and Crown CDi2000 amplifiers, up to 200 ft submersible b. OR - compatible with the following cables/connectors i. Mating 14/3 or 12/3 SO cable (Seacon XSEE3CCP or brand name equivalent molded to one end of 75 feet 14/3 or 12/3 SO cable) ii. Compatible with acoustic transducers (must mate) iii. Connector: Seacon XSEE3BCR with a submergence rating of up to 40 ft. *All equipment above should be compatible with a CDi2000 (USA) amplifier **Testing sheets describing the performance standards of sound pressure levels (dB), transmit voltage response (dB/uPa/V @1m), and impedance magnitude (ohms) should be supplied by the vendor. Equipment will be tested by the Purchaser to ensure it meets manufacturer's performance standards for sound pressure levels. Values should be within the described range for all tests, else a replacement product will be supplied within 14 days of written notification of defects. Business concerns who believe they can responsibly provide this equipment must submit the following information: 1. Product literature describing the specifications and features that allow for comparison with the stated characteristics. 2. Vendor socioeconomic status (e.g. small business, service-disabled veteran, woman/women owned, HUBZone, etc.) 3. Any other information that will prove the vendor is capable of meeting the requirements. The Government's evaluation of the capabilities of respondents will factor into whether a solicitation will be forthcoming. The NAICS code is 334290. Size Standard 750 employees. This is not a request for quotes. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on responses received under this announcement. Any information submitted by respondents is voluntary. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in responses to this notice. Respondents will not be individually notified of the results of any government assessments.
