Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 21, intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price service contract with Olympus America, Inc., Medical Systems Group Service Division, National Service Center, 2400 Ringwood Avenue, San Jose, CA 95131 because we believe they are the sole source provider for repair of one model number GF-UE160-AL5, Ultrasound Gastroscope. This Ultrasound Gastroscope is Proprietary to Olympus America, Inc. A draft copy of the statement of work is attached. Should you believe that your company is capable of performing repair services in accordance with the statement of work, provide your information and technical capability by responding to jocelyn.layson-castillo@va.gov by Friday, November 30, 2019, 3:00pm HST. The applicable NAICS Code is 811219 and the size standard is $22 Million. This notice of intent in not a request for competitive quotes. Responses received will be evaluated. However, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the Government s discretion. See attached document: Draft Statement of Work for Ultrasound Gastroscope repair.This acquisition is for the repair of a Ultrasound Gastroscope, Model GF-UE160-AL5 from Olympus Medical, SN 7721240. The Contractor shall repair the scope to meet the specifications set by the OEM for functionality. The Contractor shall then test the system to ensure it functions based on OEM specifications. Once the repair is complete, a report will be given to Biomedical Engineering stating the work performed. This is a commercially available service. There is nothing unusual about the work to be accomplished that would significantly affect the contractor s cost of doing work. The VA will not provide any additional documents or requirements to the contractor. Only the equipment to be repaired will be provided to the contractor. The repairs will be performed at an offsite facility by the manufacturer. No PHI/PII is stored on the scope, nor will Contractor have access to any PHI/PII.The repair/exchange should be completed within 30 days of issue of the PO. There are no option periods. The government will not be furnishing the contractor with any items to be used during the performance of work. Once repair/exchange is complete and the scope is returned back to the VA San Francisco, the loaner scope will be returned back to the manufacturer.The contractor will be paid in one lump sum once a valid invoice has been submitted. The necessary funds to complete this repair are available.
