- The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order toBarrier Free Lifts, Incorporated. This order will be for Annual Preventative Maintenance and Inspections of the ARJO and Horcher Patient Ceiling Lifts at the VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Barrier Free Lifts, Inc. has been determined to be the only responsible source which can supply these services due to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) rights. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all expressions of interestreceived within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.Interested contractors may identify their capability to provide the services prescribed within this notice,and should provide sufficient data for the government to determine them as a comparable alternative tothe intended source. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract basedupon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received willnormally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitiveprocurement.This acquisition will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and OpenCompetition as authorized under FAR 13.106-1 (b). Expressions of interest should be sent via email toKimberly C. Wilson at Kimberly.wilson9@va.gov. All interested parties should submit their interest NLT December 5, 2019 by 10:00 AM EST.
