FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ANNOUNCEMENT: SPECIAL NOTICECLASSIFICATION CODE: RSUBJECT: Membership in Fast Identity Online Alliance (FIDO)SOLICITATION NUMBER: NB777020-20-00118CONTACT POINTS: KAREN ARMSTRONG, Contracts Specialist (301) 975-3671;KEITH BUBAR, Contracting Officer (301) 975-8329DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), Annual Membership with the Fast Identity Online Alliance (FIDO), a U.S.-based industry consortium and a not-for-profit, for the period of 01/01/2020 - 12/31/2020.***** Sole source determination is based on the need for membership in the Fast Identity Online Alliance (FIDO), an open industry association with a focused mission: authentication standards to help reduce the world’s over-reliance on passwords.Secure online identity credentials are critical to overall cybersecurity goals. The Applied Cybersecurity Division maintains guidance on Secure Digital Identities (NIST SP 800-63) as part of its portfolio of guidance on cybersecurity related subjects. The FIDO Alliance is unique in its area of focus, international reach, and the number of key organizations participating on specifications relevant to federated identity management. FIDO's standards have received widespread adoption.*****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 813920- Professional Organizations.****** A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirements listed above for NIST may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice.
