Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering for sale one (1) item of timber on approximately 46 acres named the MD Timber Sale. This sale is located on the western side of the Jennings Randolph Lake Project in Garrett County, Maryland. The sale area 46 acres is being managed using an overstory removal prescription. The main species consists of Sugar Maple, White Oak, Basswood, Black Oak, Black Locust, White Ash, Red Oak, Red Maple, and Hickory. In order to access the timber sale area the Purchaser shall be responsible for building approximately 0.3 miles of haul road primarily through open field but not limited to open field. Included work for access shall include, but is not limited to culvert installation, stripping of top soil, placement of drainage ditches, placement of stone and/or shale and installation of a gate capable of keeping the public from accessing the harvest site. Prior to construction of the access road coordination with appropriate applicable utility companies shall be the responsibility of the Purchaser, arrangements may include but are not limited to raising or relocating utility lines and taking preventative measures to avoid impacts to underground utilities. Prior to construction of the haul road the Purchaser or Purchaser Representative shall meet with the Project Forester and/or District Representative to discuss any work to be conducted for the access area. After timber harvesting is completed the haul road shall remain intact to provide future access to the sale area. A main skid trail does exist therefore site skidding impacts will be minimal. Whole tree chipping is prohibited. An Erosion and Sedimentation Plan and Accident Prevention Plan shall be completed and approved by the Corps prior to the start of timber harvesting. In addition, Proof of an active Maryland-Deleware Master Logger certification or Pennsylvania SFI® Professional Timber Harvester Training Program certification, or equivalent from regional states shall be provided prior to the start of timber harvesting. At least two workers are required when conducting timber harvesting or associated work. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 23, 2020, by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1011, and then publicly opened.Forms for use in submitting bids are attached to this post you will find and Invitation For Bid pdf file.
