- Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Inspection Services, Sources SoughtTHIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE NOT A SOLICITATION OR OFFER TO PURCHASE. IT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES AND IS INFORMATIONAL ONLY.The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Oregon State Office is seeking responsible vendors to inspect the condition of cast iron brackets within the historical Yaquina Head Lighthouse. This lighthouse has been active since August 20, 1873. Today, the fully automated first order Fresnel lens runs 24 hours a day. The 93 foot lighthouse, Oregon's tallest, is located on a narrow point of land jutting due west nearly 1 mile into the Pacific Ocean at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, in Newport, Oregon. Project Description:I Project Scope and Objectives:- The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform the inspection.- The services shall include a Historical Building Structural Engineering review to determine the necessity to provide for adequate temporary bracing or other work when completing inspection services.- The contactor shall submit an inspection plan for review and approval by the Oregon State Historical Preservation Office.- Perform a ""Masonry Probe"" into the infill brickwork in the service room at two locations 180 degrees apart (North and South) to verify the conditions of the cast-iron brackets that are laid into the column wall. The goal is to expose the cast-iron bracket, tie rods and other components to verify their current condition.- Upon completion, the brickwork shall be put back to its pre-inspection condition.- Provide a report with complete condition assessment of the existing brackets.II. Sources Sought Response Requirements:All interested and responsible sources may submit a capability statement that shall be considered by the BLM. The capability statement must be SPECIFIC to the scope provided, and include:- Demonstrated experience in providing the inspection services described in the project scope for projects of similar scope (i.e. inspection services) and nature (i.e. Historical Preservation of Masonry Building/Structures). Experience considered similar in nature is experience in a historic rehabilitation or preservation context.Responses must be received by January 6, 2019 at 11:00 am Pacific Time in order to be considered.
