Description

A Firm Fixed Price contract for repair services is being awarded to Kone, Inc., who is the current contractor providing elevator operations and maintenance at the McCormack Federal Building. The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Public Buildings Service (PBS) - Region 1 has a requirement for repair of elevators 1 through 6 as a result of water damage incurred. Labor and material required to return the elevators to service will be required to meet the agency’s and tenant agencies need of functional elevators at the McCormack Federal Building in Boston, MA.Kone is the current Elevator Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Contractor at the McCormack Federal Building. Kone is the only elevator company contracted to provide O&M services at the McCormack Federal Building, and in order for them to provide warranty and perform elevator O&M on the services required under paragraph 3, they must be the Contractor.As part of the effort, the effected elevators will be taken offline in order to complete the required repairs. Scheduling of the repairs and execution will be done by Kone. Kone’s position as the current elevator O&M allows them to have the unique capability to coordinate all efforts involving scheduling of installation, their technicians, and the shutdown of the elevators. As the current elevator O&M contractor Kone is uniquely qualified to provide the complete services.
