- Description
- The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantics, Interior Communications Integrated Product Team (IC IPT) is seeking information from industry regarding the ability to provide unclassified video solutions a board United States Naval Vessels on behalf of the Department of the Navy. Equipment includes all Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) video systems / devices.US Naval vessels currently utilize radio frequency (RF) video distribution technology, analog standard definition (SD) 420P display resolution, and mobile satellite television reception for its unclassified video systems. These systems are used to provide Shipboard Information, Training and Entertainment (SITE) communications for a wide range of shipboard duties. The Navy is pursuing alternative unclassified video solutions that meet current requirements, while also leveraging technologies that expand these capabilities, create simplicity, as well as realize overall total ownership cost reductions. Solutions sought include systems that provide video over internet protocol (IP), high definition (HD) 720P+ display resolution, and mobile satellite television C-Band and Ku-Band reception. This RFI seeks alternative sets of solutions that: Realize cost reductions Reduce exposure to obsolescence Standardize configurations across platforms Provides higher display resolutionsThe Attachment 1 (Section 8) provides system requirements, specifications, and information related to considerations.Responses to this RFI can either outline an existing technology or provide information on developmental options. The goal is for the Government to gain knowledge that may be used in future purchases of equipment, any combination of hardware, software, or systems with the minimum amount of developmental engineering (Non-Recurring Engineering) to adopt such to the requirements in the Attachment.Technical POC: Ronald Barnes; to ronald.d.barnes@navy.mil**See attachments**
