Description
The Syracuse VA Medical Center located at 800 Irving Ave Syracuse, NY 13210, intends to release an invitation for bid (IFB) numbered 36C242-20-B-0005 Project No. 528A7-18-715 Repair Irving Ave DAV Entrance on or about 22 Nov 19The project proposes to be completed in one phase and will require removal of the existing DAV entrance canopy and structural components, including the roof, walls and entrance doors that were originally installed by project 670 008, dated 3 May 1982. Demolition is to include, but is not limited to, the removal of all components of the existing structure and substructurescheduled for removal per the contract documents, existing flooring, walls, doors and hardware, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and all components of the ceiling system.The replacement structure will include, but is not limited to, new structural componentsconsisting of concrete and steel, new canopy and roofing assembly, new interior and exteriorfinishes (new paint, flooring, ceiling, metal paneling) as well as new fire suppression, electricaland lighting components. In addition, all new piping, insulation, controls and all associatedauxiliary components for heating the new entrance will be included. The new entrance will alsoinclude a revolving door and handicap bypass door with air lock and storefront glazing withautomatic shades that will be tied into the Building Management System operated by theSyracuse VA Engineering Controls Center. Removal and replacement of storefront glazing within the existing building on the east end of Corridor 102 will also be included. Storefront window replacements in Corridor 102 will include automatic shades that will be tied into the Building Management System operated by the Syracuse VA Engineering Controls Center. Exterior improvements will include bollard and sidewalk replacements as well as radiant in slab heat and electric in slab radiant heat. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is 236220, with a Small Business Size Standard of $36.5 Million. THIS IS SET ASIDE 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS. Offers from other than service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. The offeror must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) and listed as a CERTIFIED VETERAN ENTERPRISE and be VERIFIED in the VetBiz database under the applicable NAICS at time of offer and time of award. Firms may obtain VetBiz information at http://vip.vetbiz.gov.The estimated magnitude of this construction project is: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000The firms are required to self-perform 15% of the work and will be required to show in detail the breakdown to be submitted with the bid. Firms will also be required to supply the EMR rating at time of bid.Payment and Performance Bonds will be required. A 20% Bid Bond will be required and must be submitted with the bid. Unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full IFB will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation satisfying the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203
