Description

THIS SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD 20670, Prototyping Instrumentation and Experimentation (PIE) Department, intends to award a sole source contract to MTS Systems Corporation for the procurement of maintenance on the MTS structural test machines, hydraulic servo controllers, hydraulic pump system and all hydraulic support equipment used in static and fatigue testing. This equipment is used in the everyday operation of the Structures laboratory.The MTS equipment is required to perform static and fatigue testing during Navy Flight testing. Without MTS structural test machines, hydraulic servo controllers, hydraulic pump system and all hydraulic support equipment the Structures laboratory could come to a work stoppage effecting Navy flight testing and fleet support.The applicable NAICS Code is 541380. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. 2304 (1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. While this notice of intent is for informational purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may identify their interest and technical capability, which shall be considered by NAVAIR.
