- The SAF/CDM knowledge base is facing information challenges as we continue to grow and expand our world-wide footprint. This tyranny of distance could overwhelm the human capacity to derive usable knowledge across all domains and intelligence disciplines. Embracing new technologies, enabled across the DIE and Intelligence Community (IC), offers the best opportunity to address these challenges. If SAF/CDM staff are to effectively identify, locate, and track emerging requirements across multiple disciplines, we must leverage comprehensive technologies that organize and relate information before it is presented to managers, supervisors, and leadership for consideration/decision, and enable a comprehensive understanding of the issue(s) with the most reliable information available.
