- Description
- INDUSTRY DAY 12 18 2019THIS IS A SPECIAL NOTICE ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY.The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest, San Diego, California, is planning to conduct an Industry Forum to discuss our earthquake recovery efforts at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (NAWSCL), California, a large military installation located in Kern, San Bernardino, and Inyo Counties. The forum will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 601 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California 92101. We intend to update attendees regarding the status of prospective construction projects associated with the recovery effort and hope to garner from industry partners input to inform our understanding and approach to: Potential barriers to bidding and/or execution (i.e. rules, regulations, etc.) that the government should be aware of. Competition for limited resources (i.e. housing, personnel, etc.) in the vicinity of NAWSCL that has been heightened due to earthquakes and other competing requirements (i.e. wild fires, etc.) across the southwest. Logistics/supplies required to execute a significant amount of construction at NAWSCL in a short period of time. Approach to executing a major construction program safely and with high quality. Partnering for a major construction effort at NAWSCL. This Industry Day will also serve as a part of the Navy’s market research to determine any potential 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled-Veteran Owned and Woman-Owned Small Business sources that may be interested and capable of performing applicable work. Both prime and subcontractor opportunities are expected to cover work falling under the majority of the Construction NAICS Codes. Contractors are advised to allow sufficient time to access the building due to the sign-in process and limited parking. A call-in number will be provided to those that RSVP if you cannot attend in person. Contractors interested in attending the Industry Day shall notify Mr. John Langstraat, Capital Improvements Acquisition Readiness Director via email at john.langstraat@navy.mil no later than December 16, 2019. Include your company/firm name, name and title, email address, and phone number of the attendee(s). Both potential prime and subcontractors are encouraged to attend. The number of attendees is limited to two (2) per contractor due to space limitations. Specific questions regarding the China Lake Earthquake Recovery Industry Day shall be submitted in writing to Mr. John Langstraat via email to john.langstraat@navy.mil. Answers to questions from the Industry Day will be posted on Contract Opportunities, hosted on the BetaSAM.gov website (https://beta.sam.gov/) site. THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT nor a Request for Proposals. No proposals will be accepted as a result of this announcement. No contract will be awarded as a result of this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with attending this Industry Day or providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests should there be any.
