- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the coastal storm risk management work for the West of Shinnecock Inlet (WOSI) Emergency Stabilization projectThis procurement is being solicited as Full and Open Competition. The project is a stabilization project which includes the placement of approximately 550,000 -750,000 cubic yards of sand along 4000 LF of beach that extends west of the west Shinnecock Inlet jetty. The recommended plan provides for reduction of storm damages from coastal erosion and flooding through the storm risk management berm and dune, and is located in Suffolk County, New York, on the south (Atlantic) shore of Long Island between Moriches Inlet and Shinnecock Inlet. Sand will be dredged from borrow area 6b that is located approximately 5 miles east of Shinnecock Inlet. The contract value is estimated to be between $10 million and $25 million. The advertisement and award is projected to be between December 2019 and January 2020. The Contractor will conform to all local, state, and federal laws while carrying out the construction process for this project, and the Contractor shall prepare and submit a site-specific safety and health plan to the government for approval prior to mobilization. The period of performance for this project is 60 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 for Other Heavy and Civil Engineering ConstructionAnticipate the plans and specifications to be posted electronically on or about 20 December 2019 via the SAM.Beta Website. Due to the current emergency bids will be due on or about 03 January 2020.Any and all amendments shall be likewise posted. Hard copies will not be available. It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor the Beta SAM website for any amendments.The bid opening will be held at 26 Federal Plaza NY, NY 10278, the exact location will be included in the solicitation. The media selected for issuance of the Solicitation and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the internet.Bids will be submitted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Contracting Division, Room 16-300, 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278. All questions must be submitted in writing via email, fax, or mail to the POC. The media selected for issuance of Synopsis/Solicitation and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the internet. Telephone, email or fax requests for the solicitation will not be accepted or honored. Paper copies of this solicitation and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Plans and specifications will NOT be provided in hard paper copy or CD-ROM format. The solicitation and all amendments for this acquisition will be posted on SAM.BETA once the solicitation is issued. Interested parties may download and print the solicitation at no charge.To keep informed of changes, check Beta SAM frequently.
