Description
INTRODUCTION:The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract using FAR 15 selection procedures for the project Modernize A Bank Elevators at the Iowa City Health Care System located at 601 Highway 6 W Iowa City, IA 52246. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The scope of work for this project shall include but not be limited to the construction of the services for project 636A8-17-001, Modernize A Bank Elevators for the Iowa City VA Medical Center in accordance with the drawings and specifications. This project includes the modernization of the five A-Bank elevators in Building 1, consisting of a four car group of elevators (A1, A2, A3 and A4), 4,000 lbs at 500 fpm, 11 stops, gearless traction, MCC Controls (1993) SCR Drive and one single service elevator (A5), 5,000 lbs at 500 fpm, 12 stops, gearless traction, MCC controls (1993) SCR Drive. The construction shall include, but is not limited to, the replacement and/or modification of controllers, rope grippers, hoist motors, hoist machines, sectors, hoist way limits, traveling cables, car stations, car telephones, hall stations, electrical equipment, power supply, emergency lighting, door restrictors, inspections stations, door protection, guides, interior finishes and car improvements. ADMINISTRATIVE:The solicitation will be issued as a Request For Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Proposals received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 238210 with a size standard of $16.5 Million. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in late November 2019 or early December 2019. The period of performance is approximately 323 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to Contract Specialist William.henkel@va.gov.
