Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to procure a classified Combined Interrogator Transponder (CIT) Conformal Antenna Subsystem (CAS) Beam Forming Network (BFM) Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) workstation to satisfy the U.S. Navy (USN) F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft program requirements. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B), the supplies and services for the anticipated contract actions have been deemed to be available only from the original source as award to another source would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency’s requirements. BAE Systems is the only qualified manufacturer due to the fact that BAE developed this ATP workstation for the USN due to proprietary drawings, procedures and software. The contractor shall furnish personnel, facilities, material, and services necessary to make the BFN ATP Workstation, which supports the F/A-18 E/F & EA-18G aircraft programs, meet the current NISPOM requirements. Furthermore, BAE is the only qualified manufacturer possessing the required technical knowledge and facilities, including machining, software, and special test equipment capable of performing the functions required to meet the current and emergent Fleet needs.
