Description

SYNOPSISThe Combustion Branch at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) tests jet fuel injector concepts for future commercial aircrafts. One of the Combustion Branch Test Facilities has a test rig equipped with a window housing rated for 300-psig and 1000F. We are able to monitor a 3000F flame through water and nitrogen cooled window ports (PN 27094M42A100). The test rig has been in service since 1993 and the existing window ports have held up nicely over the years but are starting to show wear.BACKGROUNDThe Combustion Branch is taking a proactive approach in having spare window assemblies (PN 27094M42A100)) fabricated before we are put in a position where our program cannot test without having spares on hand.
