- The National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, intends to issue a sole source award to NC Machinery for atransmission rebuild for a Caterpillar 140H grader. NC Machinery is the only certified Caterpillardealer and repair shop in southcentral Alaska. The Government intends to procure from only one source under theauthority of FAR 13.1061(b). This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures perFAR 13. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System(NAICS) 336350 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1500 employees. This is not a request for competitivequotes, but serves as a procurement notice to fulfill public posting requirements in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(2). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract award will bemade on the basis of quotations received in response to this notice. However, any firm that believes they havecapabilities to provide this service item may give written notification to the Contracting Officer atdarcy_skinner@nps.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether toconduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this proposed order based on responses tothis notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
