- The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD) located at 109 T.W. Alexander Dr., Research Triangle Park, NC 27709, has a requirement for a new Unipolar Diffusion Aerosol Charger configured with Aerosol flow meter accessory. CAMBUSTION LIMITED of Unit J6, The Paddocks, 347 Cherry Hinton Road, CAMBRIDGE, Cambridgeshire, CB1 8DH, UNITED KINGDOM is the sole manufacturer/distributer of the Unipolar Diffusion Aerosol Charger, part number 017-180 in North America Additionally, compatibility with existing aerosol sizing equipment Cambustion Centrifugal Particle Mass Analyzer (CPMA) owned by the EPA is required. The following specifications are also deemed to be exclusive to this system configuration:1) The charger must impart a unipolar charge on a sample aerosol.2) The charger must be able to operate at sample flows ranging from 1.5 to at least 3 lpm 3) The charger must have a sheath flow to prevent aerosol losses in the walls or wire in the charger. 4) The charger must be able to operate within a temperature range from 0 - 40 �C and at all relative humidities less than 90%.5) The charger must be characterized for charging of aerosols up to 200 nm in diameter.The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 334519 and the business size standard is 500 employees. This announcement constitutes the only synopsis for this requirement; and is issued for notification purposes only. No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal. Any interested party that believes it can meet this requirement described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill this requirement being requested by 1700 PM EST on December 31, 2019. Responses must be submitted in writing to porter.anthony@epa.gov no later than the time and date noted above. Telephone responses and requests will not be accepted.A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct competitive procurement.All current and potential contractors shall use FedConnect which is available at https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect/default.htm.
