And are any of the crawlspaces considered permit required? The sampling crew is planning on wearing 4-gas monitors at minimum. The crawl spaces all vary in height and depth. I recommend a site visit. See attached.Question Set 2: Are we able to schedule a site visit for solicitation36C24420Q0079? Yes, the point of contact is Rachel.ramsey@va.gov 610-384-7711 x 2114Do you have any pictures of the crawl spaces? See attachedAre there any existing drawings of the crawl spaces? None for oval 1 or building 10. See attached for oval 2.Question Set 3:Will the Coatesville VAMC be able to furnish the selected contractor with scaled floor plans of the crawl space areas? See attachedIn Attachment #4 (pricing spreadsheet), CLIN 0001 just lists samples . However, Section 2. Paragraph F of Attachment #1 (Scope of Work) specifies that soil samples are to be analyzed using polarized light microscopy (PLM). Line I. in Paragraph F indicates that the contractor shall analyze All negative samples will be further tested using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) . Since there is a relatively large difference in costs between PCM and TEM analytical methods, please provide guidance on what type samples are to be priced (PCM or TEM) and the analytical method for the samples listed in CLIN 0001. All samples are to be tested using PLM. If the sample is negative for asbestos, then it will be further tested using TEM.As a follow up to Question #2 above, please clarify what is meant by a negative sample as referred in Section 2. Paragraph F, Line I. of Attachment #1 (Scope of Work), please. Does this mean less than or equal ( ) to 1%; or not detected (zero). Not detectedFor the analysis of the TEM samples (if needed), what is the Coatesville VAMC s expectation for laboratory turn-around time (TAT) for the TEM samples? Since the need for the analysis of the soil samples via TEM will not be known until the initial PCM testing results are reported by the laboratory, expedited TAT will be needed on the TEM samples if the 10-day reporting deadline is required by the Coatesville VAMC. We would like to stick with the 10 day TATIn Attachment #4 (pricing spreadsheet), CLIN 0004 (Personnel Air Testing) just lists a quantity of two (2) each. Will the Coatesville VAMC provide a better explanation regarding what it expects to be included in this line item (i.e., 2 crawl space entry events; 2 persons entering a crawl space; or 2 PCM air samples)? 25% of the staff entering the crawl space need personal air testingIn Attachment #4 (pricing spreadsheet), CLIN 0002 just lists 20 locations . However, Section 3. Paragraph B, Lines I. through VIII of Attachment #1 (Scope of Work) only lists 19 building crawl spaces. Based on this disparity, will the Coatesville VAMC please clarify the number of crawl spaces that an offeror should provide pricing. 20 locationsWill the Coatesville VAMC please clarify the depth of sample collection (i.e., 0 -inch; 0 1-inch; 0 6-inches, etc.)? surface samples 0-1/2 inchWill the Coatesville VAMC please clarify the days of the week and hours during the day which selected contractor will be able to access the crawl spaces for performing the sampling work? Monday through Friday except federal holidays 8-4
