Description: This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 and FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii) in response to the mandatory requirement for a 15 day notification. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the Food and Drug Administration's intent to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price sole source follow-on contract to an existing contract with Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children�s Hospital, located at 225 E. Chicago Ave., Chicago, Il. 60611. The current contract number is HHSF223201810051C, entitled �Comparative Safety of Complex Feeding Device Types Among NICU Graduates.� The Fixed Price follow on contract is necessary to complete the second half of the study. Therefore, in accordance with the authority of FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii) and the application of FAR 6.302-3(b)(2)(i), it is necessary to award this follow on contract to Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children�s Hospital in order to ��maintain an essential�research�capability to be provided by an educational or other nonprofit institution�� and to ��maintain an essential capability for theoretical analyses, exploratory studies, or experiments in any field of science or technology.� The anticipated follow on contract�s period of performance is twelve (12) months following the award of this follow-on contract. The estimated total amount of this follow-on contract is $69,029.00
