Description

Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source fixed price contract with Illumina, Inc., 5200 Illumina Way, San Diego, CA to obtain specialized Illumina NextSeq 550 DNA Sequencing equipment for VA Boston Healthcare System. Due to the need to match equipment with research partner organizations and to obtain the processing volume and speed afforded by the Illumina patented and proprietary technology, Illumina, Inc is the only vendor that can provide the NextSeq 550 DNA Sequencing equipment. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to FedBizOps (FBO). The manufacturer is the sole distributor for this equipment in North America. The applicable NAICS code is 334516. The FSC/PSC is 6640. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
