This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. Summary of Services: This specification establishes a requirement for one (1) 3D Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing (ADAM) Printer with de-binder, one (1) 3D Continuous Fiber Reinforced Non-metal Printer, one (1) Handheld self-positioning laser scanner, and one (1) furnace located on Anniston Army Depot (ANAD), Anniston, Alabama. Salient Characteristics: 3D Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing (ADAM) Printer with De-Binder The system shall print metal powder bound in polymer and sinter into a full-density metal part. The system shall have the ability to support overhangs by metal structure, physically separated with ceramic interface. The system shall have a continuous wash system to allow maximum throughput- allow users to add and remove parts at any point in the cycle. The system shall utilize supports that are removable by hand after sintering. The system shall utilize bound metal powder with minimal Environment Health & Safety (EHS) requirements. The system shall run 100% disconnected from the internet, including slicing software. The system shall use commoditized wash solvent for ease of access and must be validated as safe by 3rd parties. Vendor software shall be compatible with Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline Army (SHB-A). Software shall be compatible with Solid Works. Fiber Reinforced Non-Metal Printer The system shall have the ability to produce composite parts meeting or exceeding 700MPA (megapascal) tensile strength. Shall have the capability to do Continuous Filament Fabrication (CFF) (*Note: Continuous Filament Fabrication is an augmented Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) process that works in addition to an FFF printer to lay continuous fiber in a part. In this process, a printer utilizes a second nozzle to lay continuous strands of composite fibers inside conventional FFF thermoplastic parts.). The system shall offer these continuous fibers: Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Fiberglass and High Strength, High Temperature Fiberglass. Shall have a physical footprint no larger than 24 (width) x 24 (depth). Shall have the ability to print break-away supports that do not require a separate wash station process. The system shall have built in laser micrometer calibration to ensure repeatability across builds. The system shall run on a unibody chassis to ensure print stability. In addition to the features listed above the vendor shall supply the following: 800cm3 Onyx filament Spool 150cm3 Carbon Fiber CFF Spool 150cm3 Kevlar CFF Spool The system shall run 100% disconnected from the internet. Vendor software shall be compatible with Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline Army (SHB-A). Software shall be compatible with Solid Works. Handheld Self-Positioning Laser Scanner Shall be able to scan chrome or other reflective surfaces without the use of a glare reduction coating on the part. The handheld 3D scanner shall be a stand-alone device that does not require a tripod nor any external tracking device to operate. Scanner and all associated equipment shall be easily packed and transported and be capable of performing to the standards set forth herein under less than ideal conditions. Scanner shall be capable of being set up and operating in under 5 minutes. The system shall run 100% disconnected from the internet. Vendor software shall be compatible with Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline Army (SHB-A). Software shall be compatible with Solid Works. Furnace External Dimensions: 42 x 20 x 28 in NTE High Purity Refractory Carbon-free Retort Peak Temperature: 2372 F Sintering Capacity: 5.55 ID x 12 L Ceramic sintering surface Power Requirement: 208 Single Phase 36A The Anniston Army Depot is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large, and small business concerns.
