Description
The Smithsonian Institutions National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) is seeking custom computer software programming services/custom web development services for the development of an online digital exhibition experience that will serve as an extension of and companion to NMAAHCs in-museum Slavery and Freedom exhibition (the Project). It is anticipated that the Project and the Project deliverables will be informed by the Agile Manifesto (http://www.agilemanifesto.org/) and the U.S. Digital Services Playbook (https://playbook.cio.gov/). NMAAHCs Slavery and Freedom exhibition (the Exhibition) is currently limited in the number of visitors it can reach and the number of objects, documents, media, graphics, and stories that can be displayed due to its physical space limitations and the permanence of its location in Washington, D.C. These physical limitations constrain the potential reach and impact of the Exhibitions vital stories and critical information. NMAAHCs vision is to provide a digital exhibition experience that evokes the powerful emotional response of an in-person visit to the Exhibition while expanding learning opportunities through access to additional digital resources not currently available as part of the in-gallery experience. This online experience will seek to increase the Museums reach and impact by creating an accessible, inclusive, intuitive, educational experience for diverse audiences and learners of all levels, including those who may not have the opportunity to visit the Museum, those who have visited the Museum and would like to engage further with the Exhibition following their visit, and students and education professionals who would like to use content from the Exhibition within the classroom and as part of their curriculum. The Smithsonian is looking to award one time-and-materials contract with possible multiple option periods to one successful Offeror. NOTE: This is not a solicitation for a federal contract and is therefore not governed by federal procurement procedures. The RFP will be available on or about 1/13/20. Please note: The Smithsonian anticipates the need to include a Minimum Qualifications Requirement. Interested Offerors will need to respond to and provide documentation satisfying these minimum qualifications in order to be considered for award. Any and all materials must be submitted by the deadlines set forth in the RFP in order to be considered. Thank you for your interest.
