Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) is searching for vendors with the capability of providing Legionella testing services for the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. Scope: The vendor shall provide all sampling materials to VA personnel and provide all labor, testing equipment, laboratory analysis facilities, and supervision necessary to complete the Legionella water sample analysis for an estimated 42 samples of potable water each quarter. Additionally, 10 follow-up samples are estimated each quarter. Analysis will include the culture, identification and enumeration of Legionella species and serotyping including Legionella pneumophila (serogroups 1-15), L. dumoffii, L. micdadei, L. bozemanii (serogroup 1), L. longbeachae (serogroups 1, 2), L. jordanis L. feeleii (serogroup 1), L. gormanii, L. wadsworthii, L. hackeliae, L. maceachernii, L. oakridgensis, L. cherrii, L. sainthelensi, L. anisa, L. parisiensis, L. spiritensis, L. jamestownensis, L. steigerwaltii, L. rubrilucens, and L. erythra. The laboratory will provide a report indicating the analytical results for each sample submitted.� Results will be calculated in terms of colony forming units (CFU).� All samples shall be properly preserved and protocol records kept for final QA/QC.� The laboratory must be certified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Environmental Legionella Isolation Techniques Evaluation (ELITE) Program as proficient at performing the culture of Legionella from environmental samples.� The laboratory should also have environmental microbiology accreditation by a nationally recognized accrediting body (e.g., EMLAP, NELAP). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541380. All interested, responsible sources must submit a capability statement by Monday, January 6, 2020 at 11:59PM local time to Brandon.Harris@va.gov. The capability statement must include the following: DUNS number, organization name, organization address, point of contact, business size under NAICS 541380, and socioeconomic status; Company experience; Customer point of contact information for contract listed in company experience along with a description of types of services provided under the contract; Location of CDC ELITE laboratory and relation to the submitting organization (e.g., owned and operated by the submitting organization, a subcontractor, etc.); List of relevant microbiology accreditations; GSA contract number (if a GSA contract holder); Techniques used to perform culture, identification and enumeration of Legionella species and serotyping; and Timelines (provide sampling kits, provide negative results, provide positive results). This Sources Sought is issued solely for information and planning purposes to determine availability of qualified vendors and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this notice that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Please note that this is not a request for proposal and the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Government may or may not issue solicitation documents.
