Mission Support and Test, LLC is seeking sources capable of providing Hoist evaluation and repair and/or replacement of equipment services for all hoist and hoist systems at the U1a complex at the Nevada National Security Site. The U1a Complex is a Hazard Category 2 complex located in Area 1 of the Nevada National Security Site. The facility is approximately 25 miles north of Mercury, Nevada, and 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. The U1a Complex comprises various surface support facilities, two shafts approximately 1000 feet deep, one ventilation bore hole (U1g), and a system of underground drifts. The two shafts, namely, U1a (secondary) and U1h (primary) are equipped with hoisting capabilities for personnel, equipment, supply materials, and mined material. U1a Hoist system subcontractor was Frontier-Kemper Constructors, Inc., with a control system by Allen Bradley. The hoist was installed and turned over to the Complex in the early 1990s. This system was purchased used and the exact age of the unit is unknown. U1h Hoist system subcontractor was SIEMAG with a control system by ABB. The hoist was installed in 2005. The portable Hoist system involves a basket attached to a hoisting assembly, which is truck mounted. This system may be used as an emergency hoist control system at the two shafts or the ventilation bore hole. Interested sources who have the demonstrated experience and capability to provide a complete evaluation of the hoist systems and provide detailed recommendations for maintenance and repair and/or design and replacement of existing equipment and components. Tasks may include a combination of: Discovery, including generation or validation of system design drawings Analysis of as-found conditions and identification of critical short term and long term issues Software/Firmware audits and development (i.e. programmable logic controllers) Recommendations Cost Estimates Engineering Design & Calculations, Specifications and other engineering design documentation Bill-of-Material Testing, Acceptance Test Plans and Reports Provide replacement materials and equipment Technical Support Oversight support for maintenance and repair activities Training of technical and operations personnel on Hoist systems The selected subcontractor, through issuance of individual task orders, may supply the materials, equipment, technical expertise and oversite necessary for repairs or replacement to ensure reliable operations for future assignments, but will not be required to provide maintenance or construction personnel. Additionally, if suppliers have experience with DOE-STD-1195-2011 Design of Safety Significant Instrumented Systems or with Safety Significant systems it would be an advantage.
