Description
NASAs Technology Transfer Program solicits inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture and market the following technology. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use.NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. THE TECHNOLOGY: NASAs Langley Research Center has developed a vehicle control system that uses real-time data about the position of the vehicle to (1) determine its proximity to per-defined geospatial boundaries (vertical and horizontal) that should not be crossed, (2) provide a warning if the vehicle is predicted to breach any boundary, and (3) initiate additional contingency maneuvers, if needed, to alter operation of the vehicle to prevent crossing boundaries. The innovation is applicable to air, ground, and marine vehicles that must operate under some geospatial limitations (i.e. areas where they should not operate). The innovation serves as an advisory and avoidance system for air, ground, and marine vehicles that do not have a qualified human operator or pilot on board (e.g. unmanned or autonomous vehicles) and as an advisory-only system for vehicles that do have a qualified human operator on board. To express interest in this opportunity, please submit a license application through NASAs Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/LAR-TOPS-269 If you have any questions, please contact Langley Research Center at LARC-DL-technologygateway@mail.nasa.gov with the title of this Technology Transfer Opportunity as listed in this FBO notice and your preferred contact information. For more information about licensing other NASA-developed technologies, please visit the NASA Technology Transfer Portal athttps://technology.nasa.gov/ These responses are provided to members of NASAs Technology Transfer Program for the purpose of promoting public awareness of NASA-developed technology products, and conducting preliminary market research to determine public interest in and potential for future licensing opportunities. No follow-on procurement is expected to result from responses to this Notice.
