- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR QUOTES OR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT*. Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 (VISN-8) is conducting market research to find capable responsible vendors that can provide Prescription Eyeglasses (both dress and safety) and onsite (at VA Medical Centers and associated Clinics) optician services to eligible Veteran Beneficiaries. This Sources Sought is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), Small Business (SB), and Large Business (LB). Size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 339115, Ophthalmic Goods Manufacturing. VISN-8 is hosting an Industry Day to discuss this upcoming requirement for Prescription Eyeglasses. The primary objective is to have an open dialog to gain a mutual understanding of what industry can provide and what the Agency can expect from businesses as well as best commercial practices. Response to this notice is due no later than January 7, 2019. All interested parties shall respond in writing to Michael Pierson, Contracting Officer, at michael.pierson@va.gov.
