- TITLE: F3T1SS9351AW01, Sole Source Acquisition for GENTEX Mask Light Parts The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a sole source purchase order to Gentex Corporation. Required items to be purchased are: This procurement will be for the purchase of oxygen mask light kits and supporting parts which will be used by aircrew for night time visibility. Part numbers include: G030-1570-02, G030-1530-01, G030-1510-01, G030-0005-01, and G030-1533-01. APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY:� This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Gentex Corp (Respiratory Systems) is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the flying masks that F-15E aircrew wear at Seymour Johnson. IAW T.O.14P3-1-161, Chapter 7.8, the only flight mask that is authorized for use in an F-15E are the Gentex MBU-20/P. These masks have only one light attachment that has been certified safe-to-fly by the 77AESG/CC (77th Aeronautical Systems Group) Memorandum dated 22 April 2008. The mask lights are an accessory specifically made for these masks and are manufactured and distributed by Gentex Corp (Respiratory Systems); no other manufacturer produces an authorized product. Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement.
