- The U.S. Geological Survey hereby awards purchase order 140G0120P0056 on a non-competitive basis to W. W. Gay Mechanical Contractors, Inc located in Gainesville, Florida for emergency replacement of the reheat boiler for the Wetlands and Aquatic Research Center in Gainesville, FL. The period of performance is 12/20/2019 to 01/19/2020. W. W. Gay Mechanical Contractors, Inc is the only local source identified and available to perform this work under an emergency situation. The Main Research Building is currently without heat for occupants with temperatures expecting to be at or near freezing in the immediate forecast. Environmental conditions in the laboratories are affecting equipment operations and are limiting work that can be performed in the laboratories. No replacement components are available to repair the existing boiler and it must be replaced. This purchase order is awarded non-competitively in accordance with FAR 6.302-2: Unusual and Compelling Urgency. This notice is for informational purposes only. This is not a request for competitive proposals.
