Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotations incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-84 dated Nov 1, 2015. All responsible sources may submit proposals that will be considered by the agency. The contract will be awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13.5. Past performance will be considered in the selection of the awarded vendor. The United States Coast Guard Surface Force Logistics Center has a requirement for the following: Background: While installing solenoid valve on nitrogen cylinder to verify P.S.I. IAW MPC R-C-11229, system had an accidental discharge, releasing water mist into the engine room.� Tech secured water control valve stopping discharge of water mist into engine room.� A hole between 1/8 and 1/4 inch developed prior to relief on the bottom of the water mist tank.� The tank is no longer being manufactured and accessory for a new wouldn�t be available for purchase. Replacing the old and obsolete system with new and approved water mist system is recommended. � Work to be performed: Vendor to provide and perform complete retrofit of the installed Chemetron Water Mist system with the Marioff HI-FOG High-Pressure Water Mist equipment. The installation should include two high pressure cylinder racks completely assembled and designed to fully protect CGC CLAMP machinery space. Installation will also include discharge piping, nozzles, fill valves, isolation (lock-out) valves, and waring signage for the hazard. Cylinders and racks are to be installed in the location where the current water mist skid system is installed. The vender will also be responsible for the demolition and removal of the existing Chemetron water mist skid, discharge piping and nozzles.
