Page 2 of 2 Remodel DOM for Patient Safety Deficiencies - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 23 has a requirement to Remodel DOM for Patient Safety Deficiencies at the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System (VACIHCS), Building 5, 3600 30th St, Des Moines, Iowa, 50310. The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, tools, equipment, insurance, supervision and any other items required to complete remodel of DOM for patient safety deficiencies at the (VACIHCS), Construction Project 636A6-14-102. The work includes but is not limited to: 1. Convert 3 existing Jack and Jill restrooms into 6 private restrooms, including 1 bariatric restroom 2. Update finishes and room layout in 3 group restrooms to provide better visibility and reduce ligature points for greater suicide prevention. 3. Update finishes in the common and craft rooms on the first floor of the building. 4. Create additional storage space for recreation therapy and craft therapy service by enclosing the current loading dock. 5. Improve building access at the main entrance and into the basement mechanical spaces to comply with accessibility codes. 6. Mechanical and electrical upgrades are included in the scope of work Work includes, but is not limited to, general construction, alterations, electrical, necessary demolition and certain other items necessary for the completion of this project. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications and drawings of the solicitation (when available) and all applicable local and VA codes. Solicitation Number 36C26320B0004 for this effort will be posted to beta.SAM.gov under Contract Opportunities on or about 28 January 2020. This solicitation will contain all necessary Scope of Work, specifications, drawings and other information necessary to bid the project. An Organized Site Visit is tentatively scheduled for 13 February 2020. (See solicitation when available for specific date/time/location). Bids are tentatively scheduled to be due on or about 5 March 2020 (see solicitation when available for specific time/date/location of public bid opening) The Period of Performance is expected to be 365 calendar days from the receipt of the Notice-To-Proceed (NTP). SET-ASIDE INFORMATION: This solicitation is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) under Public Law 109-461. The offeror MUST be registered in both the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov and the VA Vendor Information Pages (VIP) https://vip.vetbiz.va.gov/ at the time of proposal submission and maintain these registrations to be considered eligible for award. All firms must also be registered with the Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) and verified as an SDVOSB according to the tenets found in Title 38 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 74 and 13 CFR Part 125 that address Veteran eligibility, ownership, and control. In order to qualify for participation in the Veterans First Contracting Program, eligible SDVOSBs must first be verified. THIS SOLICITATION IS SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES (SDVOSBs) UNDER PUBLIC LAW 109-461. Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects: The estimated cost of the total project is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. NAICS CODE: 236220 BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: $39.5 Million BONDS: A Bid Bond will be required to be submitted with the bid. Payment and Performance bonds will be required within 10 calendar days of award.
