- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Air Combat Electronics Program (PMA-209), Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate and award a sole-source contract to Harris Corporation, 2400 Palm Bay Road, NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905-3377 for the procurement of Lots 45-48 full rate production and support of the Fibre Channel Network Switch (FCNS-24).� The production element of this procurement will include engineering investigations, engineering change proposals, integration and testing, spares repair parts, engineering and technical support, and integrated logistics support to support production.� The contract will provide for the procurement of an estimated base of�88 FCNS and�8 FCNS Mounting Kits and estimated options of�48 FCNS and�20 FCNS Mounting Kits. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole-source basis under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR Part 6.302-1, ""only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.""� The Government does not possess adequate data and/or the rights to competitively award this requirement.� Harris Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the FCNS-24.� As such, they are the only firm with the requisite knowledge, experience and technical data to successfully deliver the FCNS system to meet the requirements of the F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G production aircraft delivery schedule.� Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Harris Corporation directly. This synopsis is not a request for proposals.� The Government does not intent to fund the development or qualification of other sources for fulfilling this requirement.� All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency
