- Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 5, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify entities that could provide 2 journeyman carpenters and 2 journeyman painters whom could be temporarily detailed to the Washington DC VAMC to do patching and painting repair & maintenance work to surfaces throughout the Medical Center. Description of Work: The Contractor will provide temporary maintenance workers (2 carpenters and 2 painters) to perform patching and painting repair & maintenance work to surfaces throughout the Washington DC VA Medical Center. The Washington DC VA Medical Center will provide the materials, equipment and tools needed to perform the patching and painting repair & maintenance work. Typical work duties may include: Carpentry work includes preventive maintenance, repair, installation and replacement of building service hardware, floors, floor coverings, ceiling tiles, trim, and doors on existing structures. Performs maintenance, repairs, installations, or replacements, including assembly and disassembly of cabinets, shelving, office furniture, both metal and wood. Mounts and hangs items to walls and doors. Maintains necessary logs and records of all work performed on paper, to be turned in to the Carpentry Shop Supervisor. Painting Work includes painting throughout the Medical Center. This includes the preservation, protection, and appearance of surfaces and finishes to the interior and exterior of all buildings. Painter must have ability and knowledge in operational practices, tools, equipment and painting materials. Knowledge of surface preparation, mixing characteristics of various pigments, driers, and stains. Work will also include repairing cracks in masonry, deteriorated caulking compounds and other materials to assure that surfaces are prepared to receive paint or wall covering. Technical Qualifications: The work of the maintenance carpenter and maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. The Contractor s carpenters and painters need to be journeymen in their trade. Interested & Capable Responses: NCO 5 is seeking responses from entities that are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources, capabilities and qualifications necessary to provide the temporary maintenance personnel. Please respond with your: 1. Business name, business type, socio-economic status (e.g., Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, Disadvantaged Small Business, 8(a), etc.), and person of contact (including telephone number & email address). 2. Capability statement and summary of previous experience providing these types of temporary maintenance workers for the Veterans Health Administration or other similar healthcare facilities. 3. GSA contract number, if you have one. Important note: your GSA contract must include line items covering these occupational classes: 23130-carpenter, maintenance and 23760-painter, maintenance. 4. Estimated hourly labor rates for a maintenance carpenter & maintenance painter (inclusive of wages, overhead, G&A expenses and profit). Responses must be submitted by 11:00 AM (EST) January 29, 2020.
