Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide repairs to damaged features of the Levee in Princeville, North Carolina. Work to be accomplished under the upcoming construction requirement includes repairs to damaged features of the Princeville Levee. Repairs will include earthwork which will require a Contractor to fill in eroded areas and sink holes to the grade of the levee and to seed those areas to establish vegetation. This requirement will also include repairs to the railroad closure structure which is necessary to prevent leakage and seepage during future flood events. The railroad closure structure work shall construct a new sheet pile seepage barrier on the riverside of the existing closure structure.� The sheet pile seepage barrier shall be constructed of Type NZ14, Grade 60 steel sheet pile and is estimated to be 1,770 SF.� Twenty (20) linear feet of the barrier wall will be constructed under an active CSXT railroad track.� Coordination with CSXT will be required.� CSXT has approved a work window of 6:00PM to 11:00AM the following day when work to be completed is within 10 feet of the centerline of the track.��� The contractor shall have appropriate equipment and procedures in place for night work.� The Contractor shall allow time within the work window for CSXT track crew to remove rails at the beginning of the work window and restore rails at the end of the work window.� Railroad closure structure work includes: repair water stop and seal of two concrete abutment joints, and replacement of asphalt and timber sill of the existing closure structure.� To provide access across the railroad track at the railroad closure structure a temporary access road and earthen ramp is to be constructed.� The temporary earthen ramp will be removed at completion of work at closure structure.� � This solicitation is set aside 100% to small business concerns. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.00.� This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about March 02, 2020.� The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, facsimiles, etc) will be provided.�� Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 � Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction and the size standard is $36,500,000.00.�
