- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Request for Quotations number is 70Z085-20-Q-P4530000 and is issued as a request for quotations (RFQ). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotations incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-65 dated January 29, 2013. The NAICS Code is 336611. All responsible sources may submit proposals that will be considered by the agency. The contract will be awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13.5. The United States Coast Guard Surface Force Logistics Center has a requirement for the following: �Requirements for Heated Bridge Windows on USCGC ALEX HALEY: 1. The frames shall be inside mounted with a watertight bolted flange. All frames mount into a 3/16� thick steel bulkhead (ship�s superstructure), with the exception of five windows in the front which mount into 3/16� thick aluminum. All window angles shall be 90 degrees. Frames shall have mitered corners and shall not be pre-drilled. Frames shall be designed to prevent water which may accumulate in the frame from entering the compartment. Glazings shall be of UV resistant Neoprene Rubber. Non-icing windows, shall be electrically heated via the laminate between the glass. Windows shall have attached junction box and a remote thermostatic solid state control box. The heated window glass and all controls shall operate on 440 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase current. The window shall be capable of maintaining clear vision under icing and fogging conditions down to minus 20 degrees F with a 40 knot wind and an ice accumulation rate of six inches per hour. The junction box shall be mechanically attached to the frame in the top left corner when viewed from the inside. The junction box and the remote operated control box shall both be furnished with mating connectors. The electrically heated laminated glass unit (1/2� thick) shall be made up of two 1/4� thick heat treated, tempered safety glass panels sandwiching a plastic heating film. The heated glass and its method of control shall be IAW NAVSEA Dwg 804-2226902 and MILSPEC MIL-W-18445. Window frames will be drilled upon installation and installed using truss head stainless steel (type 316) machine screws. The frame shall be set in non-corrosive silicon sealant.
