- Source Sought This is a Sources Sought and is for informational purposes only. This is not a solicitation announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP). No solicitation is currently available. This request does not obligate the Government in any contact award. The Government will not pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of such information. Do not submit cost proposals or cost information. Response to this notice is strictly voluntary and will not affect any firm�s ability to submit a proposal if and when a solicitation is issued. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District, is conducting market research to determine the business size and capabilities of potential sources for a full depth base replacement with a 1-1/2 inch asphalt overlay of approximately 3,000 linear feet of park main access roads and a full depth base replacement where required with a 1-1/2 inch asphalt overlay of approximately 5,000 linear feet of park circulatory roads following PennDOT PUB 242, Pavement Policy Manual at Shenango River Lake in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. The proposed NAICS for the proposed acquisition is 237310 � Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction. The information gathered will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. SCOPE OF THE PROPOSED ACQUISITION: The Shenango Road Paving Project is located Mercer County, Pennsylvania. �The project will include a full depth base replacement with a 1-1/2 inch asphalt overlay of approximately 3,000 linear feet of park main access roads following PennDOT PUB 242, Pavement Policy Manual. This includes removal of all layers of the existing roadway, regarding the subgrade, replacing and compaction of the base course, applying bituminous tack and prime coats and placement and compaction the hot-mix asphalt pavement. All required materials and compaction testing will be according to PennDOT standards and specifications. There may be an awardable option(s). The option(s) may include a full depth base replacement where required with a 1-1/2 inch asphalt overlay of approximately 5,000 linear feet of park circulatory roads following PennDOT PUB 242, Pavement Policy Manual. This includes removal of all layers of the existing roadway, regarding the subgrade, replacing and compaction of the base course, applying bituminous tack and prime coats and placement and compaction the hot-mix asphalt pavement. All required materials and compaction testing will be according to PennDOT standards and specifications. Other miscellaneous work such as restriping, placement of asphalt speed humps.� The approximate duration of the contract is anticipated to be in the range of 365 days.
