Description

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) in New London, CT intents to award sole source contract, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and pursuant to authority in accordance with work performed under National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant #173687, to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). This award is in alignment with the NSF Grant as a partner, which allows the use of their personnel and vessel (R/V Tioga) is at resident cost to cover HF Radar Site operations, data management, and ship time for field work deployments for the academic year 2019-2020.� Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) was specifically selected by the NSF through competitive grant application process as uniquely qualified to support and perform all HF Radar site maintenance operations. WHOI is the only regional institution using this type of HF Radar and has the only qualified technicians in the CT-RI-MA region. WHOI already has site clearance with the RI National Guard (where Radar is located). FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a request for quotes; a solicitation package will not be issued.
