Description
Project Number 636A6-20-103, Boiler Plant Building 11 and DOM Anti Suicide Protection Building 5 (Des Moines, IA) The Contractor shall complete two metal fabrication projects that will consist of demolition and replacement of steel stairs that meet applicable design code requirements and applicable OSHA safety codes for rise height in building 11 Boiler Plant, and demolition and replacement of basement mesh panels with door and lock inside stair center continuous vertically all three floors in building 5 Domiciliary. The replacement stairs for building 11 Boiler Plant work shall have the following features: Stair assembly, tread, and handrail material shall match as close as possible in scale, stair width, and finish of the existing stairs. Grind welds smooth at handrail connections. Provide a removable 10-gauge galvanized metal sheet plate direct to underside of upper flight of stairs that is removable for cleaning, similar to existing condition Installation of anti-suicide metal mesh panels in two stairwells in building 5 Domiciliary features: Provide and anchor metal mesh panel system and framing extending from level 1 up to ceiling above level 3 that extends from this shaft to the parallel wall to completely close at the top of the shaft. Replace door and lock system similar to existing. Match existing materials and finishes, all holes and connection points following removal of existing panels. Work may include but is not limited to general construction, demolition, framing, hardware, braces, anchoring devices, welding, door fabrication details, specialty systems, finish work and certain other items necessary for completion of this project. All work shall be completed in accordance with project drawings / specifications and in compliance with the most current version of all applicable codes including, but not limited to: 29 CFR 1910.25(c)(2), NFPA 101, International Building Code, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and VA guidelines for patient safety. All work is to be closely coordinated with the VA Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Solicitation Number 36C26320B0003 for this effort is tentatively scheduled to be posted to FedBizOpps (www.fedbizopps.gov) on or about January 27, 2020. This solicitation will contain all necessary specifications, drawings and other information necessary to bid the project. An organized site visit will be tentatively held the week of February 3 - 7, 2020. (See solicitation when available for specific date/time/location) Proposals are tentatively scheduled to be due on March 5, 2020 (See solicitation when available for firm date and time). Duration of the project should not exceed 180 Calendar Days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). SET-ASIDE INFORMATION: This solicitation is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) under Public Law 109-461. The offeror MUST be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov at time of proposal submission and maintain that registration to be eligible for award. Additionally, all firms must also be registered with the Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) and verified as a SDVOSBs according to the tenets found in Title 38 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 74 and�13 CFR Part 125 that address Veteran eligibility, ownership, and control. In order to qualify for participation in the Veterans First Contracting Program, eligible SDVOSBs must first be verified. PROJECT MAGNITUDE: Between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 NAICS CODE: 236220 BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD: $39.5 million BONDS: A Bid Bond will be required to be submitted with the proposal. Payment and Performance bonds will be required within 10 calendar days of award.
