- Description
- The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for design, testing and production of the EFAS as well as to obtain industry inputs that will be reviewed and considered for possible incorporation into the Governments solicitation and resulting contract. The Government is looking to find commercial solutions that are ready for production or very close to fully developed and tested. The Expeditionary Fluid Analysis System (EFAS) is a type of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment used to modernize oil analysis. The EFAS will be a rugged and portable test instrument operable from both 120/240 VAC and battery power. The EFAS will be capable of conducting real time at-platform testing of engine oil and lubricating fluids from all aircraft operated by the USAF. The EFAS will detect larger wear metal particles that are typical of serious engine mechanical system failure modes. The EFAS shall also have the capability to analyze hydraulic fluids and have limited magnetic chip detector (MCD) debris analysis capability. The detailed EFAS description can be found in the attached DRAFT PD. It is anticipated that this requirement will be up to a ten year contract (one or two basic years to design, test, and approve three First Article (FA) test units plus up to eight option years). The projected total quantities on this contract (including three FA EFAS) will be a total fleet replacement of 266 units. Please review the DRAFT Product Description, Statement of Workandprovide a written response to the attached RFI and Application Request Worksheet.
