- Description
- NOTICE OF INTENT THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, intends to procure, on a sole source basis, repair services for the commercial-off-the-shelf multibeam sonar system for the Survey Vessel ADAMS II. The Model iWBMSh, with titanium upgrade, system was manufactured by Norbit Systems. The repair will require both parts and service. Based on market research available, only Norbit Systems manufactures or otherwise fabricates the necessary replacement parts for the system. Given the highly specialized nature of the system, Norbit Systems only authorizes Seahorse Geomatics, Inc., to perform repairs on the system in North America and only sells the necessary replacement parts to Seahorse Geomatics for professional installation. All potential responsible sources may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the requirements identified above. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent. This Notice of Intent is hereby published in accordance with FAR 5.201. All responses received within 15 days of the posting of this notice, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Norfolk District will consider any responses to this notice received within fifteen (15) calendar days of the posting of the notice. Responses may be submitted via email to axel.f.doody@usace.army.mil (cc: stormie.b.wicks@usace.army.mil) or mail to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ATTN: Civil Contracting Branch, C/O Axel Doody, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, VA 23510.
